I live in Indiana, and will be going to college in Minnesota, so logically my main choice would be a thru-hike of the Superior Hiking Trail. However, I'll be hiking in late July/early August and have heard that the bugs are absolutely unbearable on the SHT at the height of summer. I don't want to be miserable the whole time. Do any of you guys have experience on the SHT that time of year?
