    Default Water - Davenport to Clingman's (Oct 7-9, 2016)

Does anyone know the availability of water between Davenport and Clingman's Dome. Hoping to go Oct 7 through 9, water permitting.
From all sources I have talked to I understand it is dry from Clingman's south.
    Thanks.

    1. You can call the backcountry rangers office. They can be very helpful (same number as to make shelter reservations).
    2. I was in Smokies from Newfound Gap to Fontana last week. As I understand it the northern section is pretty good. However the last 23 miles in the south is very dry: no water at 113, none at Mollies, none at Russell (maybe if you go way down the hill), Spence had a little you could dip from but level is dropping, Derrick Knob excellent water, Silers good, Double Spring slow flow from pipe, Mount Collins very good.

Newfound to Clingmans, only water was at mile 203.6 and Mt. Collins Shelter. Davenport to Mt. Cammerer, only water was at Davenport Shelter.
