    Default Re-supply in Johnson

Does anyone know whether there is a supermarket in Johnson? I was hoping to bypass Smugglers Notch/Stowe during my E2E in June/July.
    Thanks!

I believe the supper market has reopened. Or you could mail a package there. Your first Switchback ale is free for LT hikers at one of the pubs in Johnson. I forget the name, but they are on the right hand side of the road at the east end of town.

Getting into Stowe from Smugglers notch is a hard hitch. It's all tourist traffic.

Yes there is a small but nice grocery store there. I stopped by last year. It is right next to the post office. It did take a while to hitch into town though. I ended up walking halfway there before I got picked up.

The supermarket was open last summer. Nice little place, had a good selection of stuff, though missing a few things that we normally buy. They did have some terrific fresh baked sourdough bread, though, and we made awesome big deli sandwiches with it for lunch on the trail.
