Default Do you want to sell your hostel?

I'm looking for an AT hostel for sale.

Anybody out there looking to sell?

Anybody know someone looking to sell?

I'm thinking of retiring. Not quitting work. Just quitting working for money doing something I don't like to do. Would rather be doing something I do like to do at this point in my life.

Your hostel would be lovingly cared for and appreciated.

If you haven't already, you might check with existing hostels. That's a small universe and most know each other and what's what with AT hostels up-and-down the trail.

    And, God bless you.

    Good hostel potential. Contact me.
You never know just what you can do until you realize you absolutely have to do it.

(my keyboard is garbage) As fun as the idea of managing a hostel on the AT may seem, (I have considered it) when I really "think" about it I can only believe that it would be mildly traumatic.
I'd really be interested in knowing why people quit the Hostel business other than they didn't make even a moderately decent living at it.

Could be a "hostel work environment!"

Hikers Paradise in Gorham NH has been for sale for years. Great location but definitely in need of major update. The White Mountains lodge and hostel in Shelburne NH was for sale for a couple of years but now is being run seasonally, I expect they may be interested. Its also a nice location as the Gorham NH area is must do resupply point being sandwiched by the whites to the south and the Mahoosucs t the north.

If you really are serious you would want to set up a LLC and figure out a way to protect you assets as many hostels are a lawsuit waiting to happen. There are things called life safety codes and despite the hostels being in rural locations they do apply.

I am working on getting first-hand info on this. And also on what, exactly, the hostel-owner lifestyle is like.

I really am serious and will, of course, have this incorporated as a business and fully insured. That seems the only sensible option. Further research may suggest other possibilities - we will see.
