Default Out: Tents hogging up shelters In: TV's hogging up shelters

I just saw this and the thought occurred to me that it's only a matter of time until someone drags something like this into the woods with them.

    Another reason to avoid shelters.

it takes less space then a tent but in all seriousness I doubt that people start taking these on back country hikes if they get fully developed and functioning as it appears to have many breakable parts

Ok, Back on topic, some of the new phones have a video projector module. Can show a movie on the wall of a shelter or the side of a tarp.

Apparently not hiking the right section of the trail - then all he'd have to do was plug them into the outlet in the shelter

nothing a campfire or cig ember couldn't quickly fix

in 07 had three drunken rowdy unrestrained yakking die hard Red Sox fans supposedly on a 4 day backpacking trip show up at a VT AT lean to with a small TV, small generator, and wheeled cooler full of beer and other alcohol. At 11:30 p.m three of us threw them all out of the lean to. only one managed to halfway erect his tent passing out halfway into his tent with the other two passed out on the ground in their own vomit and backpack explosions.

Just pick the worst coldest weather of the year in your area and go backpacking. You won't see these fools and if you do they'll have all their gadgets implanted deeply under their layers to keep the batteries from dying. Cellphone in one armpit, spot device in the other armpit, xbox in their butt crack, camera up against their perineum, miniTV against their bare stomach etc etc.

A few yrs back, I recall someone finding a laptop abandoned in GA, someone decided it was not worth carrying after all.

I just did a thru hike. Carried an iphone 6+. Played games on it, watched moves and browsed the internet. Not feeling guilty about it at all. Didn't disturb anybody, always used headphones when listening to anything. Was on the trail for 5 1/2 months and needed the distraction at times to deal with the pain and boredom. Only folks upset about it were the ones who thought I should be living up to their ideas of what the trail should be.
