I sometimes wonder if the trail ever thinks about me....

I get 7 weeks of vacation a year. 3 more years and I get 8 weeks a year. I spend most of that time in the woods or on the river.

I put my trail name on my résumé.
Hiking the AT is “pointless.” What life is not “pointless”? Is it not pointless to work paycheck to paycheck just to conform?.....I want to make my life less ordinary. AWOL

I'm out on trail so much that I can't sleep when indoors any more. Opening all the windows and playing a "nature sounds" CD helps a little.

I'm on the trail so much that ... batteries died in all my gadgets so I pitched the dead weight and now I enjoy nature without needless distractions.

Sometimes I see both sides within an hour or so. Usual down hill first, then back up hill.

I'm on the trail so much that the weather bureau issues warnings.
