When will you be leaving blackdog, and how do we recognize you apart from a dog? If you see an incredibly good looking guy that will be me.

My original plan was 4/1 as well but Ive questioned that date too because of the obvious. I have the luxury to start a few days earlier or later so you're sure to be far ahead of my single digit starting crawl.

    Good luck out there!

Hoping! Just have to work out the leave of absence with work. If it doesn't work, I'll at least be doing 6 weeks during the summer.

Starting mid-Feb 2018. Not a drinker or party-goer either. I certainly want to get the experience of the trail family but other than that, this will be more of a pilgrimage for me Glad to start hearing 2018 chatter!

This is perhaps the saddest but most true statement. You are truly a great owner. Mine is 11 with a heart condition and I don't want to be away from her when that time comes.

I think late Feb - early March start for me if the planets align just right. I have been wanting to say that for 20 years and finally think it might happen next year. Looking forward to seeing you guys out there!

Hi there! I am planning a NOBO 2018 trip as well! I am currently living in NC. I am a nomad and travel for work so I have no idea where I will be come spring of 2018, but I can guarantee you ill be at Springer! Your post caught my eye because I don't drink or party anymore and its very important to me to maintain that lifestyle. Would love to stay in touch!

I'm planning a mid march start... I get along with anyone but was never the most social person and not a drinker/partier either - maybe a few tokes here and there threw the day but I keep that to myself (I don't think that qualifies as partying). I was afraid of going alone at first but now seeing how popular the trail is and how many others go solo I'm not worried. It might even be better being able to just do whatever I want but I'm pretty easy going and would welcome any friends if they wanted to go.

I'm retiring around March 1 so my wife and I should be on the trail around March 8 or so. We gotta finish before the college football season starts. Go Canes.

Planning end of February, 2018. Wish it was a leap year so I could start on the 29th, but it'll do.

Hopefully it will be a March 1st start. Wife and I. We will see what happens. We do enough hiking that we already have trail names ( Gucci Girl and Grumpy). This week we are section hiking Shenandoah national park and doing trail magic after our hike.

Maybe you wouldn't be so Grumpy if she lightened up on the Gucci! Than again, hiking together in the Shennies is a good way to keep her out of the stores.

Right, It took a long time convincing her to leave the bling at home while hiking.

I will be NOBO 2018. I haven't set a date yet as I'm a traveler for work and not exactly sure where I'll be/my dates can be flexible. possibly looking for some people to connect with and join their start date for the company and safety in numbers thing.

Hey! Let me know if you'd be interested in starting together. I'm super excited but nervous as well to be completely alone.
