    Lightbulb NOBO June-July 2017 Hiking Partner(s)

17 year old guy looking for a hiking partner for a summer NOBO thru-hike in 2017

-Section-hiked the Long Trail over the past couple years
    -Years of hiking/backpacking experience
-Would like to start out slow, then pick up speed (around 10 miles/day at first)
    -Prefer shelters over tenting
-Don't care what age you are as long as long as I am comfortable hiking with you (and vice versa)
-Make sure you enjoy stopping every once in a while to enjoy a beautiful view or unique wildlife (enjoy the journey)

Let me know if you're interested, I'll send additional information as needed. (Still in preliminary planning stage)

I'm going NoBo starting August 5th. Little later than you but if your plans change I'll be on trail. I hammock and am starting slow also! I have Aug 5th-Sept 5th to finish then back to work.

Arb - I might do the LT again in 2017, but I'm sure I'm not your guy. I like to get in closer to 20/day in the southern portions of the trail, but someone your age is looking for a partner over at

I'm always up for starting with other people and coordinating transportation.

I plan on NOBO late June but I enjoy hiking all day and putting in big miles. I will probably see you out there but I don't know for how long since I do 20+ miles a day usually.

So my plans have changed a bit since my first post. My wife and I starting July 15th, tenting, and are planning to start slow and pick up on miles as we can. I'm sure we will run into you.

I'm planning on thru hiking in July. Probably SOBO. I'm trying to do an average of 12 miles a day.
