    Default winter storm a comming...

I guess it was bound to happen, it always does. Looks like the Mountains of NC will get a bit of snow tomorrow, just in time for the early March crowd in the Smokies. Could be quite a shock considering the mild weather they've had for the most part so far.

Meanwhile, here in Northern NH, the high today was 5F with a stiff breeze, so windchill is like -20, down here in the valley. It was in the 50's last week. Just love these wild temp swings. Now we might get a Nor'easter on Tuesday. Bring it on!

Wednesday or Thursday I saw ice forecast for TN & NC this weekend. I hope nobody needs spikes and doesn't have them.

If the forecast is to be believed, we will see 8-12 inches of snow on Tuesday, and just a few days ago you barely needed a jacket. Typical New England March weather. I just look at my little seedlings under lights and sigh.

Spring here. Green Grass, weeds growing, azaelas blooming, skeeters out in evenings, daily highs 70s-80s, lows about 60

I think we had 3 days of winter in dec and jan

    LOL.

You gotta love New Englanders. Proud to deal with winter and ever hopeful that there will be an early spring all while bemoaning the fact that there are always "late season" storms that reminds them spring is still a long way off.

I was stuck in that one for days, off route 64 in Va., till I was able to travel again. When I got home the snow was higher than I was tall. It took two hard long days to get the car from the street to the garage, 220 ft in from the street.

I left Cherokee NC yesterday at lunch time and the snow was coming down hard. And in SC this morning at 5am going to work it was coming down but not sticking. Don't think its gonna be a bad one.

Hit -35F on the summit of Washington yesterday. That is WITHOUT the wind chill, as that was likely around -80F.

    Snowblower is gassed up.

Any of y'all have any guesses for weather on the AT in NC and TN in April? My friend and I are heading out for a four week section in early April (starting at Hot Springs) and I'm trying to decide about bringing microspikes...

    was that alberta clipper gertrude?

oh wait... that was before TWC started giving names to every cloudy day and before we realized that every storm thats about to hit is actually the WORST ONE EVER SEEN cause... global warming? or something?

everyone make sure and clean out the local gas station and quickie mart of supplies, its going to be breezy tomorrow.

Yup. Here's what the first day of spring looked like at my place in 2004. I really wanted to plant peas, but I made a snowman instead.
