Traveling from Salida to Twin Lakes

Hey guys,

I want to do both the sides of the collegiate peaks but I'm having trouble finding reliable transportation from Salida to Twin Lakes. Does anyone know of a shuttle service that goes from Salida to Twin Lakes or anywhere near that?

Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Last August I used Darwin’s Shuttle Service, 909-801-1288. I think he is based in Buena Vista, but covers that entire area. Good guy.

Chaffee shuttle cheap but don't think will go all way to TL....if it were me I'd skip CE...wasn't impressed....West was amazing...only $10 anywhere in there area...I rode from BV to Salida, Poncha and directly back to chalk creek TH......$10........

And used again to get back up to Cottonwood pass from BV after my food cache grew legs....yep $10

Take the Salida to BV bus and ask to get off at the Hwy 24(main HWY) and Rd 82 junction. Will not be a huge amount of traffic going into TL but someone has always stooped to pick me up while hitching.

Another option is to ask Simple Hostel for a shuttle. Depends on how much you're willing to spend and how tight your timeframe might be what one might do.

When i was there Simple wasnt running shuttles but I did ride with a person staying there out to MC. I hitched from TL at intersection of 24 & 82 in about 15 min back to Leadville airport. Locals seemed more likely to give a ride than the tourists at CW pass and BV...
