    Default Steak for dinner

In the first 350 miles of the trail, what's the best place to get a steak dinner or pork chop or something similar?

Really after 350 miles any place should taste great.

Should be plenty of options in Gatlinburg. Take a bus up to Pigeon Forge and enjoy a gut busting meal at the Old Mill.

The TOFU Vital Wheat Gluten steak at Eat Me I'm Delish Vegetarian Only Steakhouse in Gatlinburg.

Ruth's Chris Steak House in Cherokee...the real moo meat.

Ribeye, Porterhouse, NY Strip, T Bone

If you're going to get your carnivore on do it in 'damn why can't I hike very far today after gobbling up that 40 oz Porterhouse' either here or in Gatlinburg.

One of the worse steaks I have ever had was at Ruth Chris. Should have sent it back.
Never been disappointed with their lamb.

Blue Ridge roadhouse in Franklin, a few steps away from Haven's micro motel. They do a decent steak and beer dinner. I like the Smoky Mountain Brewery in Gatlinburg too.

    Fontana village.
Good steak however overpriced (like everything in Fontana village).
It was cooked right and pretty good however the meat quality was more of a $15 steak at Applebee's then the $30.00 I payed

Any place you can. It will all taste good after a week in the woods.

Obviously most of you are not reading my freeze drying my own meals thread. There's a link to it in my signature. No ramen and pop tarts for me. So a GOOD steak will be appreciated but a lousy steak will still be a lousy steak.

I read it. Just experience tells me all town food tastes good after a week in the woods. :-)

We have eaten at the Maryville location several times. The burgers, pizza and brews were fine. Is steak on the menu? I've never looked.
This place is probably too far from the AT, but worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.
The Gamekeeper. Boone, NC. Outside of town and up high. Excellent wild game.

Thruhikers are notoriously poor judges of what good food is. They have never eaten a bad calorie.

I'm not a thru hiker. I do know good food from bad.

When I'm in Gatlinburg I go to Cherokee Grill. It looks upscale for a hiker, but the staff is nice and it's casual dress. When I was there the $8 pours of Glenfiddich 12 were generous.
