Default Road to Deep Gap, NC open?

Has anyone been on the forest service road to Deep Gap, NC (near Standing Indian) yet this year? If memory serves, it usually opens in early April. Thanks!

In one of the side panels, it shows a list of Seasonal Roads and when they are open. I think this is FS71 and it opens on 4/1.

They probably started this week or opened early since there is no snowfall.

The Pisgah Districts are usually by the book.

The USFS districts in NC have a set of seasonal road closure maps. The map just details roads and list the set of USFS roads that are open to public or seasonally open.
