    Default Patagonia R1 fleece material

Does anyone know if there is any place that you can purchase the R1 fleece that Patagonia uses for their base/mid layers? I do a lot of sewing and would love to sew up some mid layer hoodies but I don't want to just use cheap fleece. Im thinking that since its Patagonias fleece that they are the only ones who have access to it, but I figured I would ask about it. Also, does anyone know of a good fleece or midlayer material that I can get ahold of to use as a base/mid layer?

    Thanks for the help.

It's not some magic fleece that patagonia only has access to, very few clothing companies have proprietary fabrics. The R1 hoody that I have is made from polartec, just like half the outdoor fleece industry.

Our local fabric store (ok its huge and stocks auto vinyl, carpet, bulk foam etc) carries at least 30 different bolts of fleece.....have you a fabric supply store nearby? It could be that simple...

Love to see how your layer comes out when you are down.
