Default Flip Flop Hiking ~ Will The State of Mass be Secluded?

I am just wondering during this time of year will I find a few hikers at shelters in the state of Mass? Not sure if anyone would know this sort of information, just figured I would ask.

I can tell you from experience, that if you're out in Massachusetts anytime before April (even mid-April) you're not going to have a whole lot of company. It depends on the weather, of course, if it should get warm all of a sudden there may be a few more.

I think that the thru-hikers would be mostly through Massachusetts, at the very latest by mid-September. Again, after that it will be pretty empty, especially once the snow falls.
