    Default Parking in Erwin, TN

I did a thru in 2015 and want to get back on the trail for a couple of weeks. Anyone know of a reasonably secure place to park?

Uncle Johnnies has parking and shuttles. I've used them with no issues in the past. Maybe contact USA raft or the Nantahala Outdoor Center and see if they have parking. They are both right on the AT near uncle Johnnies.

Uncle johnnies is #1 for parking
What they lack in many other areas, they make up for in location.

The Chestoa Recreation area is just across the river from Uncle Johnnies and free to park. I just left my vehicle there for 6 days with no issues. My shuttle driver said it was safe to park there and he had never heard of an incident there.

Mountain View Motel just up the road from Uncle Johnnies will let you park free in the back. Just make sure that you tell them.

This is the standard place to park for the Erwin area for the AT. Room for several cars.

Chesota, Johnny's, the rafting companies are your best picks.

Iron Mtn and Indian Grave Gap and Beauty Spot have had some history of break-ins. Ok for the day but I wouldn't park there overnight.

For proximity to the trail the paved lots on Jones Branch Rd (Chestoa) or Johnny's is your best bet.

If you're security minded, parking at the Mountain Inn and Suites is the safest place in town - lot is lit at night and monitored by cameras. Like Southmark said, park in back and go in and give them your info and you're set.

Officially, parking at uncle johnnies is like $2/day or so
When getting shuttle arranged by them, and/or stay there they often dont charge to park.
And you can take shower when get back to your vehicle before drive home.
