My youngest son, 17, whom I've been gently coaxing into hiking with me, has finally given the nod. This would go a long way toward outfitting him. Give me a number to mull over. :P

Not interested in the gear, but you might want to consider keeping a few items if you can't get a good price selling them. Headlamp is really useful around the house doing repairs, as a light in a power outage, etc. Same with the stove if power is out, or for picnics. Just a thought.

Your location grabbed my attention. My uncle and his clan are from Oakmont. Do you know the Pattersons?

Beat me to it.... I hate to see anyone give up on this most fabulous of past times... hang with your stuff for a bit longer, it's value won't decrease in a few months, try it again under different circumstances, maybe try something out west or southwest???? Grand canyon or Canyonlands NP's? Just a thought.

Dude, your in the middle of some of the best hiking, I hope you catch the itch back. If you are selling I would be interested in the headlamp, could pick up as I go through Blue Ridge fairly often.

Interested in package price. PM is fine. If not package, I'll get in line for the 30 degree EE quilt

I appreciate all the encouragement offered. WB really is a great community.

I've put out about $1800 for what I've listed and there's a few more odds and ends I didn't list like my sawyer just used two days on trail.

I would like to get $1400 that's over 20% off
I'm in ellijay about 20 min from southern terminus

Keep the kit and try again. There is a learning curve (which can be brutal). Past that, it's smooth salin'.

If you stick with selling it I'll check back when you're ready to split up. 20% off isn't enough for me. GLWYS or better yet keeping it and loving it.

You guys are probably right about keeping it. There's no way someone out there could use all of it and be on this forum and I'm just not willing to take more than a 20% hit. So thank you all for your interest and/or words of encouragement.
