Matt Kirks book..fast, light, free
The Barefoot Sisters. Only one I can think of thats sobo based.
Just read some trail journals backwards!
One southbound book that doesn't get a lot of mention is the Laughachian Trail by Tom Waite. The author is a technical/analitical writer by trade so the humor is quite dry, but it appealed to my more nerdy sensibilities.

Colorless green ideas sleep furiously.
thanks all. I've read the Waite book and the barefoot sis and enjoyed both. any journals that I don't have to read backwards that were good reads?

Southbound on the Appalachian Trail by Ken Sarzynski
I'd say I enjoyed it but I've enjoyed most of the AT books I've read so my feeling might not mean much. In any case, it's a good read.
I've enjoyed reading the trail journals of Francis Tapon and also Cam Honan (Swami). Just look them up online.
