btw I am looking at the ul3 for two person use, but it and the ul2 are very similar.
Don't have the tent, but thought I'd throw this out there. I had a nemo Dagger 2, similar to a hubba hubba NX, that has the crossing pole that terminates in mid air at the top point of the vestibule, much like this MH tent does. I hate that design feature that seems to becoming more popular. It is terrible in the wind. The terminus of the pole is stikcing out there taking all the force of the wind hitting the fly, and I notice that is one of the "dislikes" mentioned in the review you linked.
My son has their Drifter 2 tent. it is well made and fairly roomy for two large people. Not super light.

Thanks for the feedback.
I discovered my wife bought me an ul3 for Father's Day.
Ill report on how it works out.
The 3 is roughly the same price and wright as the Copper Spur. She really did not like the new copper spur and decided to make up my mind for me rather than waiting for next year.
Our Venturing Crew (co-ed high school adventure club) has many of the Mountain Hardware Shifter tents. We have had no problems ithese. While they are not ultra-light-weight, out students can handle them on the trip.
I found out when she told me.
I had suggested we not replace the Half Dome until next year. I keep expecting the technology to make another jump. The half dome replacement poles solved the breaking problem and are light weight.
lots of neat things happening with fabric going on.
And then I came home ...
she started looking at my research, other tents on our section hikes, and reviews of tents I'd looked at and surveys of what people actually carry on the AT.
Then she test drove a tent or two. Then checked out the new Copper Spur. All the complaining about water coming through the floor. The stability of the tents. The low height on some.
She hates condensation falling on her.
But I was surprised.
I will report back once I've used it a few times.
The half dome was $25 at a garage sale and $10 to have the poles repaired/replaced.
A fine temporary tent for section hikes. A little heavy but not bad split up for two.
