Default New York SOBO Section Hike

I just finished hiking NY southbound. New York has a well-earned reputation for being at times poorly marked. I've noticed however that the AT southbound tends to be less well-marked than northbound. I've section hiked 5 states and have noticed this in every one. Am I imagining this?

Nope, sobo always seem to be less well marked IMHO, but some places seem to be getting better blazed, Better blazing may just be a fluke or perhaps an invitation for more flip-floping, soboing, and leapfrogging. I for one welcome better sobo blazing.
