Default Zpacks Hexamid (2013) + carbon fiber pole

The ideal tent for hiking the PCT, if it ended at the Columbia River. Better than nothing in a Washington State thunderstorm, but you might want a different tent for heavy weather. This tent is so light and easy to set up drum tight!

I thru hiked the PCT with this tent. Used it approx 70 nights between KM and the finish. I have made a few small patches but otherwise in great shape. The unfortunate fact about cuben is that it wears easily. The tent has a few tiny holes from packing it against the frame of my ULA Circuit. The upside is that it takes patches well. I made some with small squares of duct tape. I am including a roll of cuben tape which is ideal for quick patches.

Weighs 12 oz. on my scale, including 8 Ti stakes and all tie outs. Carbon pole adds another 2 oz.

$140 + shipping for tent, pole, small cuben stuff sack, roll of cuben repair tape, and 8 Ti stakes packaged nicely in a thermarest stuff sack. I'll eat PayPal fees.

I can't tell from the photos -- does this version have storm doors? Doesn't look like it...

You are correct. At the time Joe was offering a "beak" which I decided not to get. I hear you can have storm doors added for around $125.

Joe used to convert these by adding the beak.

They dont do custom anymore sadly, but it would be more desireable to many if had it. You could always ask...

How do you know they dont do custom anymore? A year and a half ago Zpacks said they could add storm doors for $125.

A year and a half is a lifetime in the business world.

That's correct. Zpacks no longer does custom work, even on gear bought new.

    Thats interesting, thanks.

There was a single night on the pct where I wished I had a beak and bathtub floor. To make this tent bombproof you'd spend more than I'm asking for and not get much benefit. The AT has these wooden structures you can sleep in if its going to rain, and the west is dry ....

Still a great shelter and desireable to someone.
A 1 oz mylar emergency blanket and your sleep pad can do wonders to block rain. Once i had to put pack, raingear, pad, etc acrodss tarp opening to blovk windblown splatter that was soaking my bag. You have enough at hand to improvise in pinch usually
