    Default Water at Darlington Shelter?

Just asking if anyone has been to this Shelter in the last 1-2 weeks and if there was water running there?

    Many thanks in advance

I can tell you that the spring at James Fry / Tagg Run shelter was dry yesterday. That shelter is 25 miles south of Darlington. This time of year many of the springs dry up.

That's what I was thinking. I can personally attest for the springs north of Duncannon. They were FLOWING as of 8/21.

I was just there on a dayhike but didn't check the spring. I can tell you that the parking on rt. 850 shown on the maps (just north of Darlington shelter) is all wrong. Instead of trying to go down the little dirt road to the game lands parking area, you park across the street in a little lot. The game lands "parking" (what a mess it was back there) no longer connects to the trail. I wasted a ton of time before I figured it out. I have maps from two different companies of that area; both show the game lands as the place to park and neither shows the other lot. Nothing is at all marked, either. Just a heads up.
