    Fellow backpackers & hikers,

Learn how to save life & limb while out on the trail. Stuff happens! Maybe to you, maybe to others you come across. Should one follow the scout motto and "Be Prepared?" Well, good ole Ben Franklin once said, "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail."

A series of highly-acclaimed 2-day Wilderness First Aid courses is coming up (also counting to recertify WFR if you already have that):

    > Aug. 19-27 Wilderness First Responder course near Circleville, WV
    > Sep. 2 - 4 Mountain-top Retreat with sunset short hike, cabins $9/bed available, campfires, lake & sandy beach, optional CPR & more at: Mtn. Lake Biol. Stn., near Blacksburg, VA
    > Sep. 16-17: Off-road Driving-tailored class, same skills & same cert, open to all: Old Fields, WV
    > Sep. 23-24: Chattanooga, TN

Worth the money and time. Although the thought is how to help someone else, but very important is having the knowledge to be able to tell those who come upon you how to help you without doing more damage.
You never know just what you can do until you realize you absolutely have to do it.
