Does anyone have any suggestion for insoles. I have a few shoes that are very comfortable for the first 5 or so miles and then the bottom of my feet start to hurt.

I recently got the Columbia montrail (yellow) that can be oven heated and molded to your feet, or through wear will adapt. Super comfortable! Any gaps between your feet and the shoe are eliminated providing less pressure on your foot. It has a shock absorber thing where the heel is. More expensive than other insoles I've seen but well worth considering.

Superfeet, most folks prefer the green, but others are available. Been using them for quite a few years now in various trail shoes.
Keep in mind, when hiking/backpacking your feet will always be tired and sore at the end of the day - just part of the game. This is nothing like the ground hamburger we used to get when carrying heavy packs and wearing full grain leather boots.
5 miles ...isnt far.
Id say thats pretty abnormal, no matter what footwear, unless theres a real problem with fit that shouldnt happen
Your feet might be tired/sore at end of day, but they will get used to it after a few days
At the start of my AT thru this year, my feet were ruining me. My Mom surprised me by buying a pair of Berkinstock Sport inserts that I used the rest of the way. They totally saved my hike, no doubt.
Also, just to play devil's advocate, I heard a lot of good AND bad words about the Superfeet. Some loved em, some hated em.
I use both orange and green Superfeet.

I ordered the super feet blue and will start with those. I think I have a normal arch but my shoes look really flat inside and hopefully this will fix the problem. Thanks
