So glad we got to meet and chill in the mountains.
We’ll do it again! You need to ride the moose!

I was hoping to cowboy the entire trip. Surprised by how much frost we had every morning...considering how dry my lips and throat were.

Interesting. Dads Lake south we had none. Duh! The lake is a heat sink.

It’s the quality of the miles that count.

Thank you for a great report and rekindling memories. I gave up Cowboy Camping without an electric fence in Greater Yellowstone years ago after grizzly encounters increased dramatically. The size and mystery of the tent has served me well with tracks not as close as when I was out in the open. This is a matter of some debate but having read Herrero I'm gonna be an old fogey and respect the statistics. Plus I don't have a cople of canine alarms either. Most dogs I've hiked and ridden with have been great when it comes to bears but boy did one bring a nursing sow right down on us. No judgement here, just opinion, hike your own hike and you all have an awesome time!

I get into the Northeastern Winds a bit still but thank you for taking me back to places I may never see again.

Thanks for the real world, real time bear info. I won't be quite so lazy next time. The fly of my tent looks like a tent to a bear and only weighs 21-22 ounces. I'll set it up and sleep better.
Thank you! If I ever get back to Jackson I owe you a cold brew.
    Cheers!

Wondering why will never see the southern part again?

Great pics, actually. I'm gonna copy the text of both parts and print it up to read on my upcoming trip to Slickrock Creek. It's nice to see a backpacking trip report not on the AT and to another area without constant food resupplies.

I'm great!! Looking at the snow on the Front Range peaks! Kinda wanting' to go up there for a bit, but I don't have 4-season gear. Maybe should head to the south and hike???

Once I find employment I'll be looking for some hiking opportunities down here in Arizona. Would like to hike the Grand Canyon.
