    I haven't carried weights like that, but I recall reading that you can adjust how close the frame fits to your hips by changing the grommet attachment to the frame. It might have been in one of their youtube tutorials.

    There is very little length choice even with the 3 different grommet options---grommet wrapped around frame, grommet normal high and normal low. The frame when loaded down is still very very close to human flesh---maybe a half inch at best.
