    Default mardingtop? 65l+10

Just wanted to see if anyone has experience with these military style packs.... I like the molle straps on it because I envision neatly fastening stuff to the out side of the pack. Do you see any negatives, using this bag mostly for back country camping.... what does the 65l+10l mean? How does that work? Any input is appreciated... thanks!

No experience using one, but usually when they list a size and a + extra amount, they mean in the external pockets. So, the pack is 65L, but the extra pockets total and additional 10L.

Unless you are really tight on money and would need exactly a pack like this, I would stay away from it.

Pack is 65L and the +10 is the 2 side pockets which are removable. Usually when you see + an amount it means that those extra Liters can be removed if not needed.

Wow! That's heavy. Believe me. You don't want a backpack that heavy. I went down that trail before and ended up getting rid of a heavy backpack after only 500 miles of hiking. Weight is everything and the lighter the better.

You envision neatly strapping stuff to the outside of the pack? That will be the stuff that will be wet, muddy, and torn - but only if it's not missing - 2 miles back on the trail. Other than a wet tent fly, and perhaps a pair of socks drying out, most experienced hikers don't like to rely on straps. Too easy to snag and/or lose gear.
