I did a lot of hiking in the alps and now I will discover an american trail. If someone interested to get in touch with me, great. We could sty in contact, get to know each other and have a look about the ideas we have. I'm very curious if anyone answers.

If he's flying into NY and going north from Salisbury, I would hope no earlier then June.

That is typically the rainy season and the trails are ankle deep in mud and water. The biting insects are also at their peak then, Mosquitos are notorious in Mass and you'll hit the peak of Black Fly season in Vermont in early June.

You might get lucky and the monsoon season will end by mid May this year and the trail starts to dry out, or it could be like the last two years where it rained nearly non stop in May and most of June.

It's the same for all of New England. Either do a section further south, perhaps Virginia or consider starting a month later. Or, make sure to have good bug nets and hike fast.
