    Where are their pit toilets on or near the trail

    Do you want a map? Most tentsites and shelter areas have some kind of privy. Not all of them are pit toilets. BSP has pit toilets. Allot of the privies in ME have been converted to above ground composting toilets.

    A few trailheads may have toilets, didnt really pay attenbtion.

    Near dam in waterton canyon did i think
    Platte river trail head i think did.
    Kenosha pass campground
    Tennessee pass
    Monaarch pass store
    Molas lakecampground

    There are no pit toilets in the backcountry along the CT, only at some trail heads and developed campgrounds.

    Be kind to the MATC caretakers, they're the ones who get to compost it.

    Very few pit toilets on the Colorado Trail except some at trailheads which, frankly, I avoid whenever possible. It's much cleaner to go in the woods, using LNT techniques of course.
