    Default Early March Nobo start

    Ladies:
This is not really a female-specific query, but I enjoy this forum and like to be in touch with other AT gals. I'm planning to begin a NOBO thru-hike on March 2. Would love to hear any tips and experiences for a pre-spring journey through Georgia and into the Smokies. One helpful bit of advice I've picked up: Dirty Girl gaiters for my planned leggings and hiking skirt.

I started on March 7th 2014. Be ready for rain/snow in the higher elevations for the first 4 -6 weeks. The nights can get pretty cold, I had a 20 bag and wore long underwear at night in the bag. I saw many women wearing the skirt and leggings for most the trail, they went skirt only as the weather warmed. Have a great hike....
