    Default Shuttle in Maine

    Hi there,

Any recommendations for a shuttle service from the parking lot at the Route 27 trail head, where I plan to leave my vehicle, and the trail head at Route 4 in Rangeley?

Does the Hiker Hut provide a shuttle service?

Any names and prices would be greatly appreaciated. I understand that prices change from year to year but knowing how much you paid will give me an idea of what to expect.

This would be for July 2018.

Also, I meant to ask... how long is that drive aprroximately? From the trail heads of Route 27 to the one on Route 4?

Last year my wife and I used The Straton Motel for a shuttle from 27 to Rangely, I think that's route 4.
Neither of us remember what they charged us but we must have thought it reasonable as we went with them.
We were going to use them to shuttle us north of 27 but I fell and got hurt so we ended at 27.

Here's a link to the shuttler list the ATC maintains:

    Message from Catherine:
Yes we offer shuttles into and out of Rangeley for our guests free of charge (included with your stay) and long distance shuttling to where ever a hiker needs to go!...we usually give rough quotes as follows...
Map quest the distance for our round trip from The Hiker Hut (to your destination and back)...and multiply @ $1/mile.

I've used Greg Roy when we did our section between rt 4 and 27. Still one of my favorite sections. Not as brutal as the Mahoosucs with better views.
