Default Recommendations from boot to trail runner

Needed the ankle support of a higher boot (Merrell) before, but I have lost 40 lbs and have been running regularly. I would like to move to a trail runner, but want the most lateral support I can find as I make this transition. What has worked for you?

Still plan on wearing my Superfeet like I do in all shoes.

    Thanks WhiteBlaze!

Currently wear a Asics Cross Trainer, which I love, for other sports. Would love to find something that feel like they do.

Start backpacking with those. If they work, you’re good. If not, then go shopping.

Why does this forum not have a "like this post" option? Such simple advise people fail to think of.
