Default Advice for quick hike, Michaux State Forest

Seeking to park perhaps at pine grove, near museum, early on a Friday afternoon.
Need to get back to car be late the next day.
Stay in tents overnight, preferably in an off the trail setting.
    (Early July hike)

    Suggestions for:
    Loop hikes?
    Shuttle service/Uber to get back?
Best routes for scenery and such?

I have a mild interest in being able to see the old POW camp, but by no means a must-do for this time out.

My Sincere thanks for your input!

This is closer to Caledonia State Park, but it's a start:

This is a loop and it's only 14 miles.

    Good luck.

Take the AT south from pine grove furnace to toms run shelter; spend the night; return on the blue trail across sunset rocks (just south of toms run). Blue trail returns you to the AT; head north back to pine grove furnace.
