    Default Mt. Washington Current Conditions

Anyone know whether there is snow on the Great Gulf trail up to Mt. Washington? Are the odds generally in favor of there not being snow on the ground on that route in mid-June?

    Thanks

The Great Gulf tends to hold snow late in the spring, folks ski there late and the sun doesn't get in there. Given the 60 plus inches of snow dumped on Washington in April its going to be a late season. Long after the webcams look like there is no snow, there is still snow down in the softwoods. The "seven" in Kings Ravine is pretty goof indicator, when its gone the trails generally are clear except for Ice Gulch and the Subway in Kings Ravine.

Skied Tuckermans Ravine quite a few times on Memorial Day weekend. Most of the time there has been plenty of snow higher up in the ravine. A few times I hiked in the snow from Pinkerton Notch and was able to ski most of the way back down.
