I'm late getting in on this and don't want to go back to read everything. I met Harvey on the trail, we didn't talk just a quick hello as we were headed in opposite directions, at the time I didn't know anything about his FKT attempt or I would have noted just where we met.

On his Road ID page how accurate is the distance covered and his location? At 6:00P it looked like he was less than 13 miles from the summit, can he summit tonight?

Road ID is accurate with location but off on mileage. He's passed that last campground and is on his way up. As of 6:12pm he has about 4.2 to go.

I just got a text from one of the other logistics guys who pointed out "How did we miss that the RoadiD tracker has the distance listed at 2198 miles?" Dunno, man. Dunno.

    Sunset tonight is 8:21 pm.

No but he will be in the next 10-15 minutes. Done with the whole AT!

Tracker shows him done. I haven't heard anything official but it looks like he's finished in 49 days, 14 hours and 40 or 50 something minutes. Great job Harvey!

We have a ping that looks like the final one at 8:53 which would be 49d, 14h, 57 minutes. We're not reporting that as the official time but based on the track, that's what I see.

Excellent effort, Harvey! One of the fastest known times, and I'm very impressed that he continued pushing hard even when it was clear the record was out of reach. This has been fun to follow, and Harvey is clearly a world-class athlete. I'd like to see him give it another go in the future. Props to Harvey and his crew.

Congrats to Harvey! Completing the AT in less than 100 days is something few can do, completing it in less than half that time puts him in another class entirely that only a handful of elite athletes would even attempt, much less accomplish.
It's all good in the woods.
