Default VA, Rt670 South Fork Holston to Atkins

Just an fyi, but the trail from Partnership Shelter NOBO to Atkins is fairly overgrown with grass and thorns in many spots. Hiking through is no problem, just a higher chance of ticks and less visibility of snakes if that is your concern. I imagine with all the rain, everything is growing faster than the maintainers can keep up with.

I experienced much of the same heading up wind rock 2 years ago, I think some sections it is more of a lack of maintainers than it is a keeping up.

Thinking of hitting the next NOBO stretch soon. Might bring a scythe with me and "maintain as I go". Might freak some people out thinking the Grim Reaper is after them!
