I was struck as well about the length of the videos and the openess to do something so painful and public. I think the generation that has grown up on Youtube just looks as it as a natural way to communicate. I hate that anyone has to go through that type of painful experience with a loved one.

She created a whole youtube channel about it with multiple videos
    Not for family, friends
    But for total strangers
    With the mannerisms of most
"Hey guys, so-and-so- here, welcome to my channel, etc

A bit beyond odd in my book.

Not attacking it, shes been thru something.
But i dont think its "normal"

People post most videos on youtube for one reason, and one reason only.

    Attention.

Same for facebook. Or instagram. Or twitter. Or vines. Most pointless posts mean "here i am, dont forget about me"

Coincidence that the person in her life that likely gave her the most attention is suddenly gone?

Yeah, its a way of dealing.

Even debris helps fill a hole.

    yup, what he said.

i watched the first one. the deal sealer for me was the big smile and wave and "hope you enjoyed it, thanks for watching" at the end as if she had just finished a comedy routine.

I watch a great deal of You Tube, especially hiker channels and musician channels because they are often entertaining and reflect my interest.

I am sorry this young lady lost her mother and that it happened the way it did but I will not be counted among her audience.I think I watched less than a minute before I turned it off.

She's actually had that youtube channel for three years. She didn't create it specifically for the purpose of posting the videos about her mom.

Tragic... both what happened to the mother and how social media deals with it...
