    Default Mlk vii

We have discussed Meeting Saturday Night at Big Hill Shelter, in Harriman Park. Exit 15 Palisade Parkway or exit 14. 15 is Route 106, 14 is route 98/106. Small lot near the Long Path trail head, some road sides along 106 and Skannitatti Lake lot is about 2.5/3 miles from Big Hill.

Kathy and I won't be joining in this year.
On that weekend we'll be doing a 5 day, dog sled, camping trip in northern Minnesota's Bounday Water Canoe Area.
You can read about it here.

Sounds like a pretty dang good excuse to get out of the city, to me!

I'm gonna miss seeing you folks this year.
Is it just going to be a Saturday night outing or some spend the weekend in the park?
Me and Kathy will be on our own adventure in northern MN. We'll take photos to share.

MLK holiday is 21 January, Monday. We typically Start somewhere on Friday, not often all from the same spot. We call a site for Saturday night to meet and camp. We make sure that it will be close enough to walk out to on Sunday Morning so we can go to the Brunch Buffet at Bear Mtn. Inn. Most go home, some stay one more night, and hike off that delicious brunch!

That sounds like a lot of fun! I enjoyed my 2 coors at the bear mountain inn in 2017. Maybe I will start trying to plan something for 2019 down south

This started back in 12 when Sarcasm the Elf, Lazarus, Hikerboy and myself were cranking each other about winter camping. So now we are on MLK7 and a dozen folks usually show up for the Saturday nite cheesecake! You are welcome of course!

I'll admit, I walked out early Sunday morning. I was freezing. Hoping for a nice, normal 20 degree day this year. Gonna miss Tara though (and LI Hikers )
Hey, whatever happened to Coach Lou's friend? He really did freeze. Hope he gives it another try this year.
