Default Cutting down a Nemo Tensor

In another group someone described cutting down a Nemo Tensor pad to save weight. He said he cut it with a scissors and sealed the ends with an iron. I'm tempted to try this. Does anyone have experience sealing the ends of a cut sleeping pad?

I did it with a NeoAir. I don't know about the Nemo Tensor. I watched videos, gathered my tools, sealed a scrap for practice, was still scared, did it and it's never leaked.

For those of you who have cut into pads to make them smaller, do you see any reason why two pads couldn't be merged into a bigger one? Would there be an issue perhaps with baffles?
    It is what it is.
