    Default bonding tyvek

What's best for bonding Tyvek together besides the addition of sewing? particularly for tieout reinforcements? And what adhesives better or worst than Tyvek tape and carpet tape

Will any other cheap materials like scrap nylon pieces bond better to Tyvek than Tyvek to itself.?

Iv'e seen contact cement as an option, but don't know how good it will be for tarp tieouts…
Am going to experiment with the cc a little..

How will any withstand use and time comparatively?
Or whats' the consensus on the best way for tieouts these days???

I'm sure there is something in this section, but did not see it.

What kind of edge seem is recommended?

Have you looked at Tyvek grommet tabs? I'm not sure what the adhesive is, but they're stupid simple to install and hold very well. Should work perfectly for a tieout.

    Here's one example:

CalebJ, I wonder if they are just coated with the same adhesive as the the Tyvek tape...

The double sided tape that comes with the Frost King window and door seal kits works great.

I've found that contact cement is an excellent and permanent adhesive for tyvek.

I used this stuff and it worked great with the 1443 Kite tyvek material. Even so, the tarp still weighs more than a .51 DCF ... (I'd have to dig it out to get the exact weight...)
I actually used this tarp a couple of nights and it worked well, one night with a little rain/wind.

For the ridge and guyline connections I used duct tape with some little dowels (made from bamboo chopsticks, in fact) to even out the load.

You could try "Liquid Stich". In the sewing department. It works good on nylon and Tyvek is a similar porous material.

I never tried it, but Goop Glue might work. Very strong & flexible. Sticks to everything. Available everywhere.Goop Glue 01172021.jpeg
