Default Fill In Some VA Gaps

I am a 66 year old experienced section hiker looking to fill in some gaps from Bland VA (@mm 591) to Ashby Gap VA (@mm991).
I plan to do three separate hikes, one this fall and one fall of 20 & 21.

    Bland-Daleville
    Daleville- Waynesboro
    Waynesboro-Ashby Gap

Not necessarily in the above order.
I average 13-18 miles/day and prefer shelters, but carry tent and am flexible.
I live in middle GA and could p/u if north of me along the way.

I'm a senior hiker (60+) from Parkton, MD, definitely interested in a VA section hike in 2019. Thru-hiked in 2009. What month/dates are you considering? Keep me posted at [email protected].

You wont have any fall experiences in Virginia in September. I have done all of my week and 2 week long trips from CT south during mid October and still dont start getting cool days until the very end of trips, and sometimes the leaves still havent turned by october 15th.

OK, it looks like this fall's hike is OBE (overcome by events).
But please anyone interested in a 1-2 week jaunt anywhere between Bland VA and Ashby Gap VA (mm591-mm991) around May 20 or Sep-Oct 20 let me know.
I am packed any ready to roll.

I am game for next spring between Bland and Daleville. I need this same section, but could stop at Rt. 311 as I have already done McAfees Knob and Tinker Cliffs. Let’s catch up via email. [email protected]

My gap is way to the North (just south of Hanover, NH to Monson, ME) but I live in the general area of the Bland to Daleville section. If I can help you along that section let me know. There will be plenty of other hikers NOBO in May, and SOBO in Sept/Oct throughout that section. So maybe you would want to just get on the trail and meet people along the way ... instead of arranging a hiking companion ahead of time. Generally when no-one else's schedule aligned, that approach has worked well for me ... and the up side is that I naturally found other people hiking about my speed. If you want to "meet" the most number of hikers, hike against the flow.... if you want to hike along with the same "group", hike with the flow. Thru hikers spend enough more time going to towns, such that I have found that if I'm hiking 15-18 mpd, I can pretty much stay with the same people all week since I don't resupply. Anyway, my advise, for what little it is worth, is to plan a hike, and go for it with or without a partner.
