Any reason to favor one hike direction over the other? Which would you choose and why?

The northbound hike is about 36 miles and the southbound hike is about 45 miles, if that makes any difference to you. Max Patch is the scenic highlight of the NOBO hike while Blackstack Cliffs is arguably the scenic highlight of the SOBO hike. I would have a mild preference for the NOBO hike because of my preference for Max Patch and I also remember more good places to pitch a tent away from shelters in that stretch than in the SOBO stretch.

Thanks so much! I believe we’ll hike from the South.
