I’m planning to head out mid-March, but not settled on a date yet. My sister is driving me down to hike the approach trail together at Amicalola Falls. Hope to see you guys out there!!

My wife and I will be NOBO mid-April (probably 4/20). We are debating just going to bed now and waking up then to make the time go faster! Very excited.

March 1st! I'm tying up loose ends on final equipment choices, namely how elaborate my cook system will be. I'm getting to know my equipment and spending as much time as I can on PT with the full load. We don't have many elevation changes in Ms. but I have a two story house so I'm cranking up the stereo and going up and down with the pack instead of putting miles on the treadmill. Hmmm, now I'm wondering about trying to find somewhere I can use the fire stairs in a taller building? Anyone ever tried that? Anyway, I'm super excited! Can't wait to start!

I lived in Houston for a while. Definitely no hills there, but the local run club used to do their hill training early morning at one of the multi-story parking stations.

Nice! I hadn't even thought of that. Nice incline. The only one I'm familiar with in Jackson that isn't in a high crime area is at a hospital and it's pretty high traffic all hours of the night. The Bienville National Forest is right down the road and there are fire towers there I can go up and down. I just can't handle hours on the stair climber without getting bored. The fire towers will have better views.
