Not going to be cheap (perhaps around $200?).
While I think there is a shuttle driver that operates out of the Fontana area, the only shuttle services I'm familiar with around GSMNP is 'A Walk In the Woods' and 'AAA Hiker Services'. But both are based around Cosby. So it's a long (read expensive) drive to New Found Gap, out to Fomtans, and back home (over 5 hours total for these shuttle companies based round trip).

    thats A Hike Inn......

which is give or take, a mile from the road to the dam..............so like 2-3 to actual dam...

back in 09, they charged me 100 bucks to go from the marina's bathroom (cause its at the top of the hill) to the parking lot of clingmans....

The smokies is known for having pricey shuttles. When roads dont go straight to and from point A and B that is to be expected.

You cant go wrong with a walk in the woods. A+ service.

I called both of the ones listed above to go from Cades Cove to NFG, which is considerably shorter, and they wanted in the neighborhood of $150. For that section I seriously considered hitchhiking (but changed my plans), your route would be a challenging hitch.

I whitewater kayak that area, and have found if you look the part (wearing a lifejacket, backpack, etc.) People usually give you a ride if they are heading that way. People usually aren't heading along the road from NFG to FD.

    It's a trip of 210 miles for me, estimated 5 hours. At .50 a mile and $15 an hour, that would be 105 + 75 = $180
If you can't get a "legit" shuttle service, send me an IM, and we might work something out.

Default Shuttle from newfound gap to fontana dam

I used Steve Claxton 828-479-9608. Fontana to NOC. He quoted me a good rate for Newfound to Fontana and even Davenport to Fontana. On time and a good driver.

Steve is going through some serious health issues right now...

he may have turned his shuttling over to someone while he takes care of himself....
