When mail dropping to a place other than the Post Office:

    Your name
    Nantahala Outdoor Center
    (street address)
    Bryson City NC (zip code)

Hold for Appalachian Trail Hiker arriving about (date)

    1) You should confirm in the Handbook or Companion if the establishment prefers UPS or USPS. NOC accepts both.
    2) "The hold for hiker, ETA 3/30/06" should be at the top or at least not right below the zipcode. I'm lazy an just put it after my name.
    3) So:
    John Smith, Hiker ETA 3/30/06
    13077 Hwy 19W
    Bryson City, NC 28713
    4) Especially at post offices, make sure you use your own name and bring ID.
