Default Overall thoughts on the Northern New Mexico Loop - Five-Hundred Miles in The Land of

This past August, I hiked the Northern New Mexico Loop that starts and ends in Santa Fe, NM.
This loop, by the same person who created the well-known "Grand Enchantment Trail", encompasses a journey through the unique northern New Mexico landscape of 13k foot peaks, red rock delights, open grasslands, aspens, and ponderosas. In addition, some magnificent food, history, and a cultural blend greats any traveler on this path.
I wrote up my typical post-trip overview with the usual planning info, gear overview for the interested, logistics, some waxing poetic (of course), and a glut of photos.

Love it, thanks for sharing this Mags! I actually hiked a part of this in 1976... my college roommate was from Santa Fe, we spent a spring break hiking some of this, IIRC. Sure looks familiar on the map. Again, thanks, we'll put this on the list! 500-ish miles is my favorite long-hike distance. Too impatient for more, less is not enough to get properly into the zone.

Since I've moved to Moab, and made a life with a certain park ranger, life has been on the upswing to put it mildly!
