Water situation Lake watauga to Damascus

Just finished section from Roan Mtn/91E to Damascus. Water was readily available from 91E to Watauga. But Watauga to Damascus was virtually dry. Even Vandeventer Shelter stream was almost dry. Had to follow stream bed down 100 plus yards to find small pools there. That was discouraging after the long walk down steep grade to find apparently dry stream. The trail angels at Rabbit Hole hostel left water caches at TN 91 and McQueen Gap Road. Also there is reliable artesian spring at Low Gap. Carry a load of water

Great intel, much appreciated as I'm planning on doing 19E to Damascus some time soon this Fall. Looks like I may need to cache some h2o.
