A trailside celebration to honor the life of Carlton W. Ticehurst (1932-2013) was held on Mount Moosilauke, NH on September 13th, 2019.

Carl thru-hiked the AT as Runner of the Woods in 1992, walking the entire Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine at age 59. Happy trails!

Odd he’s been dead 6 years and this is just now happening. Oh well, better late than never. I hope he found what he was looking for... RIP.

Default Remembering Runner of the Woods

Oh, I remember Runer of the Woods very well. Such a gentle, soft-spoken man. I believe he was a retired physician. He was at Daicy Pond campground when I arrived, having climbed Katahdin that day. I climbed the following day. We had leap-frogged all the way from Springer.
