    Default Parking area

Doing the Georgia portion. Last year we parked in the woods on dirt road in shooting creek North Carolina we worried about the truck the whole trip. Were would be a better spot to park in North Carolina. Thanks

Please be more specific where you wish to hike and/or park.

Anywhere right inside North Carolina so we can say we done all of Georgia. we will be coming from Georgia heading to North Carolina. On the AT
    Hopefully it makes more sense.
    Thanks

I would not recommend parking at Winding Stair Gap, as there have been recent reports of vandalism. Deep Gap is fairly safe - I have not heard of any issues there recently. Standing Indian Campground would probably be the "safest" but no guarantees.

Park where it makes sense for your trip. Thats why we have insurance. Out of all my AT trips I have never had issues with parking and have never worried about it.

Park at Gooder Grove hostel and they’ll shuttle you to Winding Stair Gap.

If you park at the Standing Indian Campground, you can follow the Kimsey Creek trail from Deep Gap. A very enjoyable walk - and almost entirely down hill.
