    Have to add this to the Shelters thread - it's right on the AT at the base of Katahdin.
    Southbounders and flip-floppers are not allowed to stay at the Birches Long Distance Hikers Campsite with it's two lean-tos and tent platform. I suggest getting a rez here, for the nights before and after your summit day.
