The plan is beaver brook to summit and hit the campsite for the night on the way back down. I prefer waking in snowshoes with a camping pack for sure. Do you think it’s Safe to say leave the crampons in the car?

The trail up Willard was so packed down most of the hikers were using microspikes or bare boots and getting away with it. Even so, I think it was easier with my short snowshoes. The snow pack is still thin down low, but gets better with elevation.

Hard to say. It got well above freezing today and looks like it will again the next couple of days, so there will be some thaw/freeze action going on. Beaver brook trail. I bet it's mostly ice from all the rain a week ago. Better check VFTT or alltrails for any reports from the weekend. Lots of hikers were out all over.

Who wants snow and I love summer. Last summer I managed to go hiking on summer skis, it was a strange experience, but I liked it, I recommend.
